Boxhead is an Australian owned and operated not for profit enterprise with a vision to divert post consumer automotive plastic waste from landfill and repurpose it into usable products. Boxhead is looking to employ people who have a disability or have significant life barriers. Our aim is to provide meaningful career opportunities and career development in the plastics industry. Our vision is to create a better everyday life for our staff. We work cooperatively with our local communities and each other to achieve our vision
Our primary focus is on recycling automotive car bumper bars which are collected from local smash repair businesses. Using a closed loop system of manufacturing, our test products have been made soley from these car bumper bars. In cooperation with Lidcombe TAFE we have proven this plastic waste can be repurposed. The golf tees, are one of a few products we have successfully injection moulded.
We continue to research and study the recycling and manufacturing of polypropylene car bumper bar waste. Currently we are developing our business plan and conducting feasibility studies into the financial viability of this business model.
